Deep cell warfare (or autonomous warfare) is a term used for a tactic centric method of warfare involving the use of totally non-connected, isolated, usually secret cells of combatants that operate independently without any formal communication network or command and control system. Often called “sleeper cells”, these small bands (typically men) are usually given long term order to fully integrate into the enemies population until some kind of signal at which time they are supposed to activate. |
