Asymmetric warfare is the term used for a tactic centric method of warfare where the military forces, weapon deployment and/or strategic deployment of two or more combatants are substantially different to make it unlikely/impossible for either side to bring forces directly to bear against the other by conventional methods. |

Guerilla warfare is an example of asymmetric warfare whereby a guerilla army may use the substantially more powerful forces of an enemy and its constraint to international laws of military engagement against it.
